reporting

I’ve been a writer for as long as I can remember. While studying English and History at the University of Texas at Austin, I also began reporting at the News department of The Daily Texan. Since then, I’ve written for KTBC-7 Austin as a digital intern as well.

I’ve always made an effort to report on underrepresented communities, and I’m inspired to bring these voices into the newsroom. I’ve covered a variety of topics in the past, ranging from urban development and transit to labor organizing and student issues.

  • I reported and photographed this story about student-worker organizing at UT’s School of Social Work. Despite years of organizing for better working conditions and pay, organizers told me that this was the first time they had received media coverage.

  • I produced and recorded a video about an 18 foot tall troll installed as a piece of public art by Danish sculptor Thomas Dambo.

  • I reported and photographed on a story about student repression at UT Austin.
