About me
Julius Shieh (he/they) is a photographer and multimedia journalist based in Madison, Wisconsin. Born and raised in New Jersey, he’s surrounded himself with cameras ever since receiving a point-and-shoot digicam at the age of five. He currently reports with Milwaukee Neighborhood News Service and works as a freelance photographer, and he graduated with a B.A. in History from The University of Texas at Austin in 2024.
Julius has also worked as a reporter at Wisconsin Watch, a visual intern at KUT/KUTX and a photography intern at The Texas Tribune, and he has served as a photo editor and news reporter for The Daily Texan. He has also worked as a digital intern at KTBC-7 Austin and as a photographer at Texas Connect, UT Austin’s faculty magazine. In his free time, Julius likes cooking, cycling and taking naps with his two cats, Peanut and Butters.
